The changing nature of Building Regulations results in a more complex range of compliance and risk issues to property and developments. Blackett Maguire + Goldsmith have a team of experienced building surveyors and certifiers that offer the technical expertise to minimise these risks while also maximising the developments potential of innovative design solutions. - Building Certification for the issue of Complying Development Certificates
- Assessment of Performance Based BCA solutions (including Fire Engineering

We extend similar services to Victoria, Western Australia and Queensland through our associatation with certification firms in those states.
We are acknowledged by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing as specialists in providing Aged Care Specific Commonwealth Certification Assessment; and also undertake Building Code of Australia Consulting and Principal Certifying Authority Services for the Aged Care sector.
David Blackett is a member of the Aged Care Industry Council (NSW & ACT) Building Committee in a 12 person committee who provide technical advice to the Aged Care Industry Council (ACIC) on the Building Code of Australia, Australian Standards, planning considerations and associated building and planning instruments relevant to residential aged care and retirement villages.
Blackett Maguire + Goldsmith are also keen to encourage excellence in the Building Surveying and Certifying field, we offer our experience to up-and-coming students and Building Surveyors; and in particular are a supporting partner of the University of Newcastle.
