David’s extensive experience in building approvals and certification (accredited certifier- NSW, ACT & QLD), Building Code and town planning consultancy ensures that clients are provided with direction in areas of development and development consent matters, fire and life safety upgrading and fire engineering.

David has a wealth of experience in providing BCA compliance advice and certification services in various sectors focusing on health, aged care, education and public buildings, in particular matters pertaining to fire & life safety, accessibility, health & amenity and issues relevant to client specific Facility Guidelines.

David’s expertise in the health, aged, education and public building sector relate to design and certification for new facilities, upgraded or extended facilities; and compliance auditing of existing facilities.

David has utilised his expert knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and the legislative framework to assist members of the construction fraternity as a lecturer for the AAC, mentoring regional Council Certifiers, and advocating for a better regulation system across the industry.

In addition to the above David has experience in other relevant fields including assessment, peer review and formulation of performance / alternative solutions; mediation and negotiations with Council and other authorities (FRNSW), assessment of specialised building classifications including health care, residential aged care and entertainment venues together with assessment and certification of Crown projects.
